Their jungle juice (non-alcoholic) is a blend of guava and orange fruit juices and perfect for any time of day. The food is consistently good, flavorful and well-prepared, with something for every taste. All I can say is, try it if you haven't. Sometimes a little familiarity is all it takes for these dishes to be worth a try the next time youâre at Boma! The guava turn over was really tasty. Things to try, the crispy plantain things, the beef roast, and the only pot with the word curry in it. Temper the slurry mixture with the boiling water and return everything to the stove. We tried a bit of everything but some of our favorite things were definitely the Mickey Waffles with some delicious sausage and bacon. That was so delicious, we really do waste a delicious opportunity when we throw them away. The Animal Kingdom Lodge not only has a great atmosphere but the food and flavors here are incredible. My food tasted fresh and well-made. They serve it at both breakfast and dinner, too. The staff are always friendly too. My one wish is that they would change up the hot desserts. Make a slurry with the corn flour and the rest of the water. The pastries at breakfast, and the desserts at dinner are extensive and yummy. The buffet station with vegetable side dishes had several different types of rice, cabbage, and roasted veggies.The dessert station was my favorite with traditional cheesecakes, brownies, coffee tarts, and fruit cobblers, mixed with guava panna cotta, and my new all-time favorite dessert -- Zebra Domes. On our last visit, the carved steak was dry and overcooked and most people were hovered over the soup and hot sides.The fufu is tasty, and is basically mashed yams. The pork shoulder and/or spice sirloins were not going to set my tastebuds on end, and it seems like it's trying not to offend, as in, not much distinctive flavor profiles, or the use of spices, or anything memorable...and in a way, I found the flavor blandification to be more offensive in itself (I had a very well made Jollof Rice at Bennachin, and a great Lamb Tagine at Jamilia's, both rather notable dining establishment a few days prior to visiting WDW in New Orleans). Salmon, steak, chicken and our highlight: bobotie, a South African dish.Bobotie is a curry-based meatloaf with egg and has an incredible taste. 5/5. As Disney buffets go, this is one of the better ones with choices like Pap and mulligatawny soup (delicious), offering both African and South Indian dishes as well as American options. Lot of different meat and fish selections, salads, soups and omg desserts!My favorite items are the Durban Chicken with any of the sauces on the side, Corn Pap (which are kind of like grits), couscous with golden raisins, seafood gumbo and ZEBRA DOMES! I skipped the traditional tossed green salad station, and went straight for the soups: spicy Nigerian peanut soup, coconut-chicken-curry soup, and carrot-ginger soup to name a few.
